Hi, I'm Ben!
Things that make me,
me
15 years of public school teaching taught me that trust and genuine connection promote the environment for people to be their best selves, and that belief shapes everything about how way I approach photography.
I love people, and I'm endlessly curious about the stories they carry and the places that have shaped them. Photography gives me the opportunity to build relationships, collaborate with others, and create images that are both emotionally honest and artistically beautiful.
Becoming a father has deepened my appreciation for how quickly life changes and strengthened my desire to preserve the relationships and moments that matter most. Whether I'm gently guiding a portrait or quietly observing from the background, my goal is always the same: to notice and document life's existing beauty in ways that are artistic and compelling.
The photographs we create together are a reflection of that trust, collaboration, and shared experience.

My life partner and I welcomed our son into this world in 2023 and on a daily basis he is reintroducing us to the joys of this world. It is a beautiful experience, and we are grateful.
Much of my life has been dedicated to early childhood development. I have worked in a range of roles, primarily as a 4th grade teacher, and have found that the combination of teaching and photography has had a tremendous impact on me as a person. Teaching has developed my spirit, while photography keeps me present and focused on the beauty of this world.
My dad was a musician that played about every instrument from the mandolin to the piano. He'd describe his pursuits as tinkering. My first introduction into photography came from watching him convert our childhood bathroom into a darkroom so he could develop the photos of our household pets.
